Chicken Cordon Bleu

This is a variation on the classic Chicken Cordon Bleu

 

1 Boneless chicken breast per person

1 Slice of Ham

1 Slice of Smoked Gouda (you can substitute Swiss or Provolone)

1 -2 toothpicks

Preheat your oven to 425

Cut the chicken breast to make a small pouch

Insert the slice of  cheese and the slice of ham into the pouch.

Use the toothpicks to hold the chicken breast closed.

Saute the chicken breast in a preheated saute pan. Just enough to give each side a slight brown colour.

Place the whole pan into the oven for an additional 10 - 15 minutes (make sure internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165).

Serve with some rice and a salad.
